The State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamilnadu Limited (SIPCOT) has developed one of the large industrial complexes in the country in Hosur over an area of 1200 acres to promote and to develop medium/large industries with SIDCO offering comprehensive services for more than 150 small-scale industries.

Hosur, which is 2400 feet above the sea level on national highway 7, situated about 35kms from Bangalore and 330kms from Madras and Coimbatore, is well connected by rail and road by Salem and Bangalore, with moderate temperature and mild winter for 2 months. Hosur, though situated on the northwestern periphery of Tamilnadu, has been selected for industrial dispersal due to above locational advantages and climatic conditions.

The units located at Hosur manufacture sophisticated products ranging from trucks, automobile parts, motor cycles, mopeds, textiles, canned fruits & fruit products, instant coffee, electronics, TV sets, diesel engines, power shift transmissions, castings, forgings, cigarettes, abrasives, hosiery knitting needles to textile machineries etc. further private land is also available besides SIPCOT and SIDCO developed plots, for further development of industries at Hosur.

Hosur Industries Association was formed in the year 1981 under the Presidentship of Mr. Arunachallam of Carborandum Universal. We are proud to say that Mr. Venu Srinivasan from TVS Motor Co. Ltd., an internationally known industrialist was our President from the year 1988-1990. Our association represents about 86 industries belonging to large and medium industries and also small and tiny Industries through membership of HOSTIA.

Our association is a member of Industrial Managing Committee of ITI in Hosur and is also a member of Hosur New Town Development Authority Committee.
